Care Guide
Daily Care & Handling
Always handle your fine jewellery with clean hands to prevent transferring oils and dirt. Remove your jewellery before activities that may expose it to chemicals or physical impact, such as:
- Washing hands or using cleaning products
- Swimming (fresh, chlorinated, or salt water)
- Gardening
- Exercising
- Applying perfumes, lotions, or hairsprays
Store each piece separately in its designated packaging to prevent scratching. For necklaces and bracelets, fastening clasps before storage prevents tangling.
Cleaning Your Fine Jewellery
Gold Jewellery
Clean your solid gold jewellery with mild soap and warm water using a soft brush. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a lint-free cloth. For more stubborn dirt, professional cleaning is recommended.
Diamond Jewellery
Diamonds attract oils from your skin, which can diminish their brilliance. Clean diamond pieces by soaking in a solution of mild dish soap and warm water for 20-30 minutes, then gently brush with a soft toothbrush. Rinse well and dry with a lint-free cloth.
Gemstone Jewellery
Different gemstones require specific care approaches:
- Sapphires and rubies can be cleaned similarly to diamonds
- Emeralds, opals, and pearls require more gentle handling with minimal water exposure
- Never use ultrasonic cleaners on emeralds, opals, pearls, or any fracture-filled gemstones
Special Considerations
Travel Care
When traveling with your jewellery, use a dedicated travel case with separate compartments. Consider leaving very valuable pieces in a secure location or wear them to avoid loss in luggage.
Insurance
We strongly recommend obtaining jewellery insurance for your fine pieces. Document each item with photographs and keep your purchase receipts and certificates in a safe place.
